The Ultimate Hawaiian trail run supports the Keala Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to combatting the devastation of drug and alcohol addiction in Kawaii. This run was built of suffering. When it comes to Hawaii, there's more than meets the eye. Substance abuse is a major problem on the islands, particularly amongst the youth. Hawaii hosts the highest rate of methamphetamine use and one of the highest rates of suicide in the nation, with one of the lowest levels of resources available to communities.
ROMWOD runs because drug and alcohol addiction is devastating to our culture, community, and our youth. We’ve watched it kill people we love and those close to our hearts. This event was created to shed light on the problem and begin to heal our community one step at a time.
