Mobility and recovery app pliability partners with Josh Kerr to empower runner’s through mobility education
NEW YORK, USA / LONDON, UK (June, 26th) Today, human movement brand, pliability, announces the addition of World Champion Middle Distance Runner, Josh Kerr, to its distinguished roster of athletes. The new signing marks pliability’s efforts to educate the ever growing running market by empowering runners with essential knowledge about the importance of mobility and recovery in order to boost performance and prevent injuries.
This progression is a logical step for pliability, having launched its Running Hub, targeting both amateur and seasoned runners, in November last year, with the aim to expand upon this offering later in the year. With mobility serving as a foundational element of Kerr's training regimen, this collaboration is a natural step between an elite athlete who understands the critical importance of mobility and a brand dedicated to enabling its users to perform optimally through targeted content.
Kerr's inclusion in pliability’s roster, which consists of CrossFit champions such as Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, Noah Ohlsen, Laura Horvath, and more, underscores the brand's strategic expansion into other markets, diversifying from its origins in CrossFit and successful ventures into other sports such as Golf with the support of Lee Westwood. This announcement follows pliability's recent integration partnership with Garmin, which has reinforced its unique position in providing customisable recovery and mobility routines tailored to runners.
His long-term use of pliability has been crucial to Kerr's training regime. He has been a dedicated user for many years, prior to the app’s rebrand from ROMWOD (2022), incorporating it as a non-negotiable in his workouts upon the recommendation of his coach. Kerr will contribute to their running content, offering insights from his successful career. His focused mental approach and practice of mindfulness align seamlessly with pliability's values, making him a perfectly aligned ambassador for the brand.
Josh Kerr says “Joining forces with pliability is a natural progression for me, having integrated their programs into my routine for years, introduced by my trainer during workouts. Structure is a crucial aspect of my life, so I start with mobility routines to prime my body before diving into running training. pliability enables me to take the time for myself both physically and mentally through their customisable mobility routines that focus on breathwork. With my mother being a physiotherapist, I recognised from an early age the profound impact these practices have on performance. I can’t wait to share my knowledge to assist other runners in achieving their ambitions."
Cody Mooney, Managing Partner at pliability says “We are honoured to welcome Josh Kerr to the pliability family. His dedication to mobility and recovery aligns seamlessly with our mission to support athletes and amateurs in achieving their peak performance whether they are on the track or at the gym. Josh’s vast experience and insights will be invaluable as we continue to expand our running content, helping runners of all levels maintain their health and reach their individual performance goals.”
